What is leadership?

Everyone has their own views on what leadership actually is. The word "leadership" can bring to mind a variety of images. For example, A political leader, pursuing a passionate, personal       cause. An explorer, cutting a path through the jungle for the rest of his group to follow. An executive, developing his or hers company's strategy to beat the competition. In my opinion I think   leadership can be as small as contributing to someones life, being a leader doesn’t mean you are required to change the world.

What does leadership look like?

Great leaders show confidence and pride. Leaders are often people that display manners, looks presentable and tidy, stands and tall and cares for others.

What do leaders do?
Make Others Feel Safe to Speak-Up
Make Decisions
Challenge People to Think
Be Accountable to Others
Lead by Example

Characteristics of a Good leader?
Someone who displays good leadership:

Positive Attitude - Great leaders know that they won’t have a happy and motivated team unless they themselves exhibit a positive attitude. This can be done by remaining positive when things go wrong.

Takes Responsibility - The best leaders don’t make excuses; they take the blame and then work out how to fix the problem as soon as possible. This proves that they’re trustworthy and possess integrity.

Able to Delegate -  Delegating to others shows that you have confidence in their abilities, which subsequently results in higher morale in the workplace, as well as loyalty from your teammates.

Communication -  Good communication skills are essential for a great leader. The best leaders need to be able to communicate clearly with the people around them.
